The Fort Atkinson High School football team's home schedule had a striking similarity to the way its road schedule started.

For the second consecutive week, the Blackhawks were shut out by a defending State champion. Reedsburg overpowered the Fort Atkinson defense to win, 43-0, Friday at Blackhawk Stadium.

Reedsburg, the defending WIAA Division 3 State champs, gained more than 400 yards of total offense and held a 36-0 lead at halftime.

Matt Lennon rushed for 160 yards on nine carries. He also scored three touchdowns, including TD scampers of 55 yards and 62 yards. Quarterback Chad Mazur also ate up rushing yards, collecting 119 on 15 carries. He scored three touchdowns for the Beavers (1-1 overall).

Fort Atkinson struggled to move the ball consistently on offense. However, the Blackhawks (0-2 overall) put together one solid drive at the end of the first half.

Trailing, 29-0, Fort drove from its own 32-yard line to the Reedsburg 10, behind solid running by sophomore Joey Scott.

After the drive stalled, Ian Brady's field goal attempt went wide-left. Fort did not have another scoring opportunity in the game.

Scott led all Fort Atkinson rushers with 49 yards on the ground. Drew Dunkleberger completed 3-of-10 passes for 25 yards. He connected with Brady twice fore 22 yards and found Seth Ward once of a two-yard gain.
